Shadows of the Past Evening Walking Tour

On Saturday, November 1^st, Vicksburg National Military Park will hold its popular Shadows of the Past Evening Walking Tour. This year we will focus on park stories after the siege dating from the 1870s through the 1940s.

This program requires walking roughly a mile over paved and gravel portions of the park tour road and includes some hills. Make sure to bring water and wear comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather. A flashlight is recommended, however flash photography will be prohibited. 

Although this program is free, reservations are required. Tours will start promptly at 6pm, 6:30pm, 7pm, 7:30pm, 8, and 8:30pm. We recommend you arrive at the park at least 15 minutes ahead of your reserved time in order to drive to the program location, park, and check-in. To make reservations please call the park Visitors Center at 601-636-0583. Don’t wait until the last minute to register as there are limited spaces and spots fill quickly.

Park hours are 8am to 5pm daily with the U.S.S. Cairo Museum opening at 8:30am.
