The presentation will begin at 11:00 am at 1002 Crawford Street. One of the finest Greek Revival structures in Mississippi. Full of Civil War history, Balfour was the home of noted wartime diarist Emma Balfour, scene of the 1862 Christmas Eve Ball interrupted by the arrival of Union troops, and headquarters of Union General James B. McPherson's occupational forces. It remained the Business Headquarters for the Union Army until the end of the Civil War. Tapestry 2014: Open for the first time in over 15 years, walk in the footsteps of Dr. and Emma Balfour who resided in this home during the siege of Vicksburg. Excerpts from her diary will be presented to bring this fascinating history to life. Tickets for Tapestry are $15 per individual presentation or $30 for three presentations.
