Author Richelle Putnam, 2014 Mississippi Arts Commission Literary Arts Fellow, highlights innovative Mississippians who managed to keep businesses and services open, despite economic catastrophe on the heels of the Flood of 1927. She spotlights spiritual and cultural giants who rose from the nation's poorest state to create a lasting footprint of determination, pride and hope during the Depression era.
