Maintenance Technician III

 
Maintenance Tech III is the advanced working level in the succession. Tech III's safely perform moderate to complex technical Maintenance tasks and serve as lead worker (or supervisor when maintenance manager is absent). This position performs the most difficult and complex technical assignments on a continuing basis, with minimal supervision.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform a variety of work in the general maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex mechanical equipment and distribution systems, involving work of a varied nature with minimum supervision.
  • Troubleshoot equipment using a variety of diagnostic tools.   
  • Responsible for correcting identified safety issues.
  • Assure preventative maintenance is completed in compliance with Unified Brands standards.
  • Support manufacturing with regard to meeting safety, quality, delivery, and performance initiatives.
  • Assure repairs and guards are in compliance with MIOSHA requirements.
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, industrial electrical systems, HVAC systems, and lighting systems.
  • Highly skilled problem solver
  • Must be able to manage multiple maintenance projects or is a certification electrician  
  • Experience welding, fabrication, pipe fitting, and ability to work at raised heights.
  • Must be able to complete work assignments with minimum supervision.
  • Must be a team player, safety minded and customer service oriented.
  • Can apply learned skills and utilize tools to improve equipment reliability.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Two-Five (5) years of maintenance experience or equivalent position using the knowledge, abilities and skills listed above or completed training programs focusing on the same.
  • Preferred candidate would be one that has senior level experience within a manufacturing work environment.
